單詞都很簡單，據說有500詞彙就能看了。但是組成了一個不錯的故事。作者的功力可見一斑。

寶子們，我近期讀完了《Boxcar Children》系列的第二部《Surprise Island》，Alden家的四個孩子——Henry、Jessie、Violet和Benny——在暑假期間被爺爺帶到一個孤島上生活的故事。他們住在一個穀倉裏，自己做飯、探索島嶼，還發現了好多神奇的東西，比如古老的印第安遺蹟和一個神祕的洞穴。整個故事充滿了冒險和驚喜，超級適合激發孩子們的想象力！ Hey guys! 說實話一開始看到四個已經成爲公子小姐的人放棄優渥的生活去荒島生活，我還覺得有點作。但是看到他們有了不少新冒險，而且昇華了一下不再爲物質生活發愁，開始轉向精神文化追求，還是挺讓人嚮往的。並且故事一開始就留了一個懸疑給讀者也比較吸引人。 本尼的熊孩子特性初現，也挺搞笑的。 詞彙比上一本稍微難了一點。

讀簡單的英文，學習英語。一遍看略帶稚氣的故事。就像慵懶的午後吹着微風喝着溫茶。簡單的快樂，這個小島真的充滿童趣，拾海鮮，並且烹飪，用畫的方式製作博物館，印第安人遺蹟挖洞尋寶，釣龍蝦，過生日……這樣的簡單生活真美好!
