If you are a developer and you want to completely master Git without heavy theory, this is the book for you. A reasonable knowledge level and basic understanding of Git concepts will get you started with this book.
It's the first English book I read through completely, maybe it's proper to be called the guide book of Git instead of best practices. Anyway, it's really pretty technologies book which has short, simple, straightforward expression, and I can also learn how to write documents in English from it. This will be the first but not the last foreign book I'll read.
