单词都很简单，据说有500词汇就能看了。但是组成了一个不错的故事。作者的功力可见一斑。

宝子们，我近期读完了《Boxcar Children》系列的第二部《Surprise Island》，Alden家的四个孩子——Henry、Jessie、Violet和Benny——在暑假期间被爷爷带到一个孤岛上生活的故事。他们住在一个谷仓里，自己做饭、探索岛屿，还发现了好多神奇的东西，比如古老的印第安遗迹和一个神秘的洞穴。整个故事充满了冒险和惊喜，超级适合激发孩子们的想象力！ Hey guys! 说实话一开始看到四个已经成为公子小姐的人放弃优渥的生活去荒岛生活，我还觉得有点作。但是看到他们有了不少新冒险，而且升华了一下不再为物质生活发愁，开始转向精神文化追求，还是挺让人向往的。并且故事一开始就留了一个悬疑给读者也比较吸引人。 本尼的熊孩子特性初现，也挺搞笑的。 词汇比上一本稍微难了一点。

读简单的英文，学习英语。一遍看略带稚气的故事。就像慵懒的午后吹着微风喝着温茶。简单的快乐，这个小岛真的充满童趣，拾海鲜，并且烹饪，用画的方式制作博物馆，印第安人遗迹挖洞寻宝，钓龙虾，过生日……这样的简单生活真美好!
