学到了一些有意思地道的英文表达，可以摘抄下来，口语中运用起来。爱看美剧的朋友，里面有些表达应该很熟悉。

读起来很轻松容易，但是出现印刷错误，阅读时要格外注意，否则会吸取错误信息。暂时注意到的有： 232 play second fiddle 和 play the first fiddle。虽然之前学的是序数词前加the，但这个表达我查了下Google，first 和 second 前不需要加the。 260 里的break释义为：an opportunity to do sth, usually to get sth that you want or to achieve success 机会；机遇。例句：I got my lucky break when I won a 'Young Journalist of the Year' competition.我时来运转，在 “年度最佳青年记者” 竞赛中取胜。 但是Give me a break更普遍的用法：used when sb wants sb else to stop doing or saying sth that is annoying, or to stop saying sth that is not true 别烦我了；别胡说了。所以使用时需注意，避免误解。 319 self-shots自拍。感觉现在的年轻人更喜欢用：selfie。 331: flagrant 这里的“臭”与气味无关。与fragrant不对立。 346 印刷错误 pass the buck 349 印刷错误 dirty-cheap 364 印刷错误 burn the candle at both ends不是durn

有趣而且很短小，随便翻翻就看完了，没有阅读负担。 作者是做外贸的，积攒了很多日常用语，都是些平常可以用到的短语和词汇。比看单词书要生动些。 有些表达可能地域性比较强，比如作者说的一些美式表达，其实也只流行于作者打交道的几个州甚至仅限于那个圈子。但是大多都比较准确了，看到这些不一定要使用，别人使用的时候可以理解不至于有歧义就已经实现了阅读本书的意义。

在欧美发达国家，银行往往在公共假期是休息的，大家不能去银行办理任何业务，要等到working day（工作日）才行。所以大家就用“连银行都放假”来表示“公共假期来了”。
