Virginia Woolf

I loved that Woolf gives us the freedom to think without obligation. To stare at a wall, and see the entire universe behind it. What struck me most was the raw subjectivity of perception. We only see the world through our own shifting lens. Oh! dear me, the mystery of life; The inaccuracy of thought! The ignorance of humanity! Woolf's experiment of psychological realism felt both liberating and unsettling, as it celebrates the freedom of interiority while exposing the inescapable chaos of the world outside & inside the mind. The notion of thought, as Woolf suggests, can become a spiral, disconnected from action. I found that so relatable. Interestingly, the "full stop" becomes the text's, as well as our thoughts' ironic admission that reality will always intrude. Still, there's no harm in putting a full stop to one's disagreeable thoughts by looking at a mark on the wall. Wow
