全書共分上、下兩篇、上篇主要介紹了古九針的名稱、形狀、主病及其相關理論，並詳細介紹了新九針針具的名稱、操作方法及其適應證，以及各針具治病的臨牀報道。下篇主要根據近40餘年來公開發表在醫學雜誌的新九針治病文章，按內、外、婦、兒、骨傷、皮膚、五官不同科室分類，介紹了各科常見病的新九針治療方法及其療效情況。由於收集的文獻報道的原作者衆多，不能一一致謝，故在此一併表示誠摯的感謝。

山西師懷堂新九針，結合病情特點，採用相應治療方法，傳承內經創新針具，學習應用
本科時候就聽聞新九針的大名，但一直沒有拜讀過相關論著，近幾日間斷讀完了本書，師老承古開新，繼承內經的基礎上，結合現代技術創立新九針，在臨牀上應用頗多，尤其是火針給予我全面又深刻的指導。但是其中鈹針的內容，可能是受限於時代，目前已可完全被電刀替代，效更佳。
