★★★★★

(知道我爲啥讀不下去了吧) <The Happy Prince> Why had the statue Prince not seen his own side’s sorrow or love? Because it’s dark under the lights. We felt it hard to find goodness or evilness close to ourselves, or people who really care about us. So please starting to be more and more kind to your families and friends. And God is not helping, no one is coming. Try your best to save yourself! Love yourself! <The Nightingale and The Rose> “Love ” or “Red rose” for every who had seen the Nightingale’s devotion remained beautiful. Only when we suffer it through shall we feel it real, the true love. So make sure that will not cost your life like the Nightingale. <The Selfish Giant > Once I was quite angry about the definition of “selfish” and the punishment of closing the Giant’s private garden. The cold winter and hail covered the lovely garden because of lacking of children’s smiling happiness —that was quite another selfish! But how silly I am when against my human nature to not be obsessed with the Giant and the little boy, which was not Love but a relationship between father and son. <The Devoted Friend > How cynical Wilde is! He must be acquainted with human nature so bitterly that he can create or depict such a hypocrite. Friendship is not all about taking or giving, but mutual concern. However, we should be brace to say no when someone hurts our feelings. <The Remarkable Rocket> Please try your best to remember that every person has a defect of more, and forgive yourself for whatever stupid things you did in the past. “Let you go off!” And no matter what sensation you will make, the only audience is always yourself. <The Young King> For the former pages’ depiction on gorgeous luxuries, I thought that was suitable for Wilde’s Aestheticism. But when it came to the first of the three dreams of the young king, I suddenly realized that the author tried to plant a seed in our hearts. And I had read Toibin’s articles for Wilde’s homosexual life with “Bosie”, both of them lived luxuriant lives, which seemed contrast to the theme of the fairy tale he wrote. I felt pity. <The Birthday of the INfanta> Again, Wilde tired his best to decorate this tale with precious beautiful things. I also tried my best to read it over, for those words of plants, buildings, clothes and so on, getting me stuck many times. The Infanta had all the things but not the parents’ companionship or a true friend. I thought her behaviors was quite familiar with our contemporary spoiled “only child”, both of whom remain the innocent personality without sophisticated moral education. But not all of them are real Prince or Princess. At last, we cannot mock anyone who was born with disabilities, or who accidentally got diseases. Think that what if it happened to us. < the Fisherman and His Soul> I was so tired with his exotic and ornate words that I abandoned the English version and then finished it in Chinese. The pattern of his trying to persuade us readers was expressing the examples for three times, which formed a parallelism that intensed the tone of his voice. In this tale, he might want to tell us love was superior than power or money, but in the third one, the fisherman was compromised to the dancing white girls. Although he waked up and then stuck to himself and the Mermaid. After the Mermaid died, he was sorrowful and crying until the sea inundated them. A priest found them and buried them, and that’s the end— Love made the barren land grow flowers, only the lovers died together. People change. Btw, Wilde’s imagination of the soul was marvelous that he let the shadow being one’s soul and can be cut by a knife with its handle of green viper’s skin— Was this a story he learned in his travel? <The Star-child> Obviously, three examples was held here and there. And this time in Chinese, easily got Wilde’s environmental descriptions. I can’t help but asking: what is beauty and what is ugliness? Or the goodness and evilness? How could not a beauty born to be good? Did Wilde try to express that humanity is naturally evil? And the ending paragraph was incredibly amazing, for his abandoning of the ideal narrative.

這版是我讀過的第二好的譯本,比林徽因版忠實於原文,但比較平淡,少些文采。
