we are introduced to brother and sister field mice living with their mother and father in a cozy nook in a hay field.Their father enthralls them with stories about gardens in big fields, houses in big gardens, kitchen cupboards in big houses, and big yellow cheeses in big kitchen cupboards.
Keep your cool and keep your rules all the time. A new way is one’s power that making a new imagination. Sometimes what your daddy said is what the God said.
008 —— 《Snippy and Snappy》By Wanda Gag Again, illustration’s missing from this book, so we couldn’t cross ref initially that the flat flower field was a carpet and the giant flower was a lamp. Great imaginations put forward by the author, but illustrations’ are definitely needed to make the story more readable for children. 《小田鼠妮皮和納皮》is here available on WeRead with full illustration but the fun of reading was kinda lost in translation: The repetition texts “We rolled it up,we rolled it down, We rolled it up and up and down. We rolled it up and DOWN and down, We rolled it UP AND DOWN.” And little rhymes of “We followed it over this and that, and over things both round and flat, and over things both small and tall, And then!--over the garden wall.” were fun encouragements for children to join reading. Therefore, even the illustrations were missing, I would still recommend this book. Could cross ref the Mandarin version just to complete pictorial imaginations in our heads 😁 it was a fun read. ——— 2022.2.1
A cute, cute story about brother mouse Snappy and sister mouse Snippy. They live a happy childhood life together with their dear parents. Their world may seem tiny to us, but they enjoyed it as much as we do in our world, if not more.
We rolled it up and up and down.We rolled it up and DOWN and down,We rolled it UP AND DOWN!to brainwash me!
