A Cupping Therapy That Can Be Learned in No Time On the Colors After Cupping • Blackish purple: Poor blood circulation, internal blood stasis, overexertion, high platelet count, and yellowish discharge with a foul odor are often associated with skin diseases. In cases of acne and other skin conditions, the strong penetration method can be used to release blood stasis and expel toxins. • Purple patches: Indicate cold-induced blood stasis. When exposed to wind and cold, it is necessary to dispel wind and scatter cold, as well as activate blood circulation and eliminate pathogenic factors. • Grayish white: When touching the cupping area, if there is no sensation of warmth, it indicates severe cold and dampness. Severe internal dampness that cannot be expelled should be treated with moxibustion to warm yang. The principle is to use heat for cold and eliminate dampness. • Bright red: Indicates internal heat accumulation, which requires purging fire and clearing heat. • Dark red: Suggests internal heat symptoms, poor blood flow, and high blood lipid levels. It is necessary to purge fire and activate blood circulation. • Blackish red with cinnabar-like red spots: If there is no discharge, it is often associated with the common cold. Expelling toxins can lead to recovery from the cold. • Watery discharge in the cup: Indicates heavy dampness, and additional points should be selected to remove dampness. • Blood blisters: Caused by excessive duration of cupping, leading to bleeding. First, control the intensity of the fire, then adjust the duration to avoid burns. • Pus-filled blisters: If blisters are punctured and yellowish fluid is discharged, avoid breaking the skin and do not wash the area with water to prevent infection. Recovery usually takes a few days. • Skin wrinkles: Indicate exposure to wind pathogens, which are common in winter and spring. This should be taken seriously to avoid skin diseases. • No color change after cupping: If the skin color remains normal and the marks disappear immediately, it indicates a healthy body.
