全书共分上、下两篇、上篇主要介绍了古九针的名称、形状、主病及其相关理论，并详细介绍了新九针针具的名称、操作方法及其适应证，以及各针具治病的临床报道。下篇主要根据近40余年来公开发表在医学杂志的新九针治病文章，按内、外、妇、儿、骨伤、皮肤、五官不同科室分类，介绍了各科常见病的新九针治疗方法及其疗效情况。由于收集的文献报道的原作者众多，不能一一致谢，故在此一并表示诚挚的感谢。

本科时候就听闻新九针的大名，但一直没有拜读过相关论著，近几日间断读完了本书，师老承古开新，继承内经的基础上，结合现代技术创立新九针，在临床上应用颇多，尤其是火针给予我全面又深刻的指导。但是其中铍针的内容，可能是受限于时代，目前已可完全被电刀替代，效更佳。
